The Interview

Teniola Temitayo: I am from Peculiar Ministers and we thank you for honouring our invite.😊

Temitayo Teniola: Handling business, Christianity has been in existence as far back as 2000 years ago, hence what does Christianity mean to you?

Oluwakemi Raji: Christianity means to be Christ like. To live in complete obedience to the word of God.

Temitayo Teniola: The rate at which we have other religions converting to Christianity is high. Can there be any reason to this fact?

Oluwakemi Raji: The reason is simply the Holy Spirit. As children of God, we preach to others but the conversion is basically by power of Holy Spirit.

Temitayo Teniola: Is Christianity a religion or a lifestyle?

Oluwakemi Raji: Christianity is a lifestyle. The book of Matthew 7:21- 24 explains this. We are Christians if we walk in line with the will of God not to be hypocritical in any way.

Temitayo Teniola: What should be the attitude of Christians to new converts?

Oluwakemi Raji: Our attitude to new converts and fellow Christians is demonstrated in pure love – Agape love. The word of God says that we are not sufficient of our own but our sufficiency is of the Lord. As Christians we can only attain the true position God expects only by prayers and faith in God. When we believe God we find ourselves achieving what we ordinarily can’t get on our own.

Temitayo Teniola: What is the difference between A Christian and a Believer?

Oluwakemi Raji: This question seems to be a bit tough, but I will say a Christian is one that lives a Christ like life and believer is one that believes and obey totally the word of God. Hence a Christian is believer and vise versa.

Temitayo Teniola: Are Christians meant to be in competition with other religions?

Oluwakemi Raji: There is never a reason for competition, a Christian is a redeemed soul. Hence, as a Christian, the unbelievers should look to us. This is because Christians are the light and salt of the world.

Temitayo Teniola: I have seen new converts go back to their old ways between a short period of time. What can be the cause for this?

Oluwakemi Raji: It could be that they were not genuinely converted . Jude 1:24 says he is able to keep us unto the very end.

Temitayo Teniola: Hmmmm. How can you help a new convert to grow?

Oluwakemi Raji:

  • By persistent prayers.
  • By sharing the word of God with him or her.
  • Continuing follow up. Showing love it could be giving if there is need for that etc.

Temitayo Teniola: How should a new convert handle Family Crisis?

Oluwakemi Raji: It takes a lot of prayers, patience, self control and meekness and above all the mercy of God to overcome a family crisis. A new convert should learn to trust God for everything. It is written in the book of Luke 1:37  “…for with God nothing shall be impossible”.

Temitayo Teniola: All you have said is very important, Thank you. In a case whereby a particular person is from a a another faith (Muslim, Buddhist, Traditional worship etc) and then he choose to renounce that to follow Jesus.

Besides his/her parent/family are still of the other faith and he/she is still living with them and then the family members are not aware of his/her choice. What can he or she do?

Oluwakemi Raji: Prayers, humility and trust in God for everything and he will overcome all devices. Follow the word of God in the book of Psalms 37:3 – 5. It is well in Jesus name.

Temitayo Teniola: Thank you very much for this wonderful insight. More anointing, we pray. Thank you for honouring our invite once again.
Love from us all at Peculiar Ministers.
