Faith works? Here are some quick nuggets on the matter of faith. Faith is the basis upon which Christian living is built. Beginning with salvation and the promised eternal life to the actualizations of all your inheritance in Christ. Faith simply is, believing in the existence of things that are not presently existent (Hebrews 11:1).
Faith in its real sense will bring a change of level which from a position of hoping, things will exist into living in the realities of those things. The manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit in one’s life is through faith. Also, it is virtually impossible to explain the totality of dimensions accessed in God just by human intelligence; not to talk of living in those realities.
The grace of God comes as a gift to mankind but faith is the mechanism by which the gift is received. Faith is what places spiritual legalities on physical realities. Paul said “…the life which I live, I live by faith in the son of God …” Galatians 2:20b. Just like we started with, it is the basis by which we live.
How does faith come? Faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17). Note that not all hearing can produce faith but the Word of God does because when God speaks, He backs it up with His ability.
Faith grows in prayer (Jude 1:20). There is a level of confidence you build in the place of prayer. The Word of God channeled by prayer is the vehicle that drives faith.
James 2:17-20 says,
“Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, ‘you have faith and I have works’ Show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well; even the demons believe and also tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?”
Brethren, the truth stands glaring that only by works is faith made perfect. There are consensus of believers who lay claim on the manifestations of the power of God but who never live in that reality. All of the things you know about God, others know. Demons also are not ignorant of God. What makes the difference is the place of action and living by what the Word of God says. It is not enough to believe, take action. The Word of God says I am healed; I have to live it.
Sometimes, people mistakenly get the idea that faith can just do everything. Don’t misunderstand me; I am not putting down faith. Just standing on faith confessions alone will not open the windows of Heaven. You will have to put some actions and obedience to your faith. Take for instance, faith and obedience in God’s word open doors of blessings. You have to live right for faith to work for you. Faith is right and faith in the word works.
For short, faith is believing and acting on God’s word. Herein is faith made perfect.
