Start without Fear

Start without Fear - Peculiar Ministers Christian Movement

Welcome to a new year. Largely, there are expectations to what you want to achieve which must have made you put up a resolution. However, this article is not written just with regards to a new year but for someone who just got into college, got married, about to start a business/project. I am saying to you, start without fear.

Fear is a great enemy to the purpose of every man which sometimes leads to procrastination, envy, hatred towards others, self-hatred, anxiety, depression among other unpleasant outcomes. Fear can limit anyone who gives it a place to reside inside his or her heart. On the limiting power of fear, 2 Timothy 1:7 says,

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Fear takes away your power, love and sound mind. Just a single statement, an observation, personal or someone’s else experience, thinking etc can ignite fear. A man who knows how to use a gun and is with a loaded one can be killed by someone holding a piece of knife running towards him afar off because of fear. You must start this year and every of your endeavours without fears.

Romans 8:15 makes us understand that,

“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”

The spirit of fear is not from God. Boldness comes from God which can be prayed for and received just as Acts 4:31. The Spirit of adoption we have received as children of God gives us access to God in the fulness of Him, thus, being led of God (Romans 8:14). In this newness of time, know that you have got God’s leading as a child of God who shouldn’t give a room for fear. The spirit of fear is of this world and not of God. 1 Corinthians 2:12 admonishes us that,

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”

Of a truth there will be challenges on the way. The journey may have unpleasant happenings, but what makes the difference is that you are a child of God who is led by God. Therefore, when the storm and wind blows, you will be standing without fear. God said to Joshua in Joshua 8:1, “fear not”. Human analysis of situations may bring fear; I bring a reminder of God’s word in Isaiah 41:10 that says,

“Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

We are also not to fear any evil (Psalm 23:4) because once again as a child of God, you have a faith – an assurance – that God is with you. Start without fear because the fear of what people can do to you can be very discouraging. The fear of what will they say? Will they support my vision? Can I get this on my own? Without him or her, I am doomed, should be casted out from your mind. Your words should be that, “In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me” – Psalm 56:4. Fear not those who can kill the flesh (Matthew 10:28).

The only fear you are allowed to have is to fear God. To fear God is to keep to His Words (Psalm 2:11). As a child of God, keeping God’s word shows you love Him. God does not owe anyone. God is a Father and as an earthly father pitieth his children, so does God (Psalm 103:13). God loves those that fear Him that David in Psalm 147:11 declared that,

“The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.”

Beloved, fear denies you from enjoying the manifestation of God’s power in you; it denies you to express love which is of God; it denies you of sound mind because it brings depression and anxiety. Start without fear because God is your strength and power (2 Samuel 22:33). Do you fear that you cannot carry on with the year on your own, remember God is your strength. God gives power to the faint (Isaiah 40:29).

Ensure to walk in love. Love casts out fear as 1 John 4:18 says that,

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

This is a new beginning for you; walk in power, love, and sound mind through the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; Luke 24:49) overcoming fear.
