To be connected means to be joined or linked together. To stay connected is the ability to be continuously joined with someone or something. God is our ultimate source, the only source that keeps us charged and alert for whatever may happen in our Christain journey. God is the one that helps us develop into the man He has created us to be. To be connected to God means to be linked with God, but to stay connected to Him means to be unshaken in our walk with Him.
To stay connected to God involves intentionality and humility because as we grow in Him, we gain more attention from people and can get carried away. However, staying connected to Him keeps our hearts in check and prevents us from being carried away.
To stay connected to God means we are still growing because we are sensitive to His Word and are not led by our flesh. When a believer is connected to God but doesn’t stay connected, such is likely to go back to his old ways because his or her spiritual life has become stale without growth. That is why you need to walk in the Spirit. Disconnection from God means putting yourself as your leader instead of having God lead you. When a believer is disconnected, such finds it hard to hear the Voice of God or to know what His will is.
John 15:4 says,
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”
To bear fruits, you need to stay connected. Disconnection from God brings about stagnancy in a believer’s life. It brings about a stunted growth which causes a lack of fruit production in the person’s life.
As believers, our ability to stay connected produces fruit in us because we are continuously feeding on His word and listening to Him. Believers cannot grow outside God because our growth is tied to our walk with God. You stop walking with God, you stop growing. Be intentional about staying connected to God, it is important for your spiritual journey.
A disconnection from God is not evident immediately; it takes time for the evidence to be seen. Do a heart check often to see if you are truly still connected to God or have been disconnected from Him.
To keep growing, stay connected.
You bear no fruits when you are disconnected. You have nothing to offer to people if you are not connected to the source. God is our source. Stay with Him and exude His characters which are expected of you.
John 8:31 says,
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed”.
You are His own when you are connected to Him. Your obedience to His every command is proof that you are still connected to Him. Ensure to stay connected and you will see growth in your spiritual journey.
